Homeschool to public school placement?

-hey i live in washington and im homeschooled atm, next year ill be a sophomore. anyways im thinking about going to public school, but the only thing im worried about is ill be placed back in freshman year for some classes. do they just put you in your own grade and see how you do or do they test you and put you in different grades for each class?
